Recent trends in shape and topology optimization

Focus areas of this minisymposium include analytical as well as numerical techniques in shape and topology optimization. In particular novel techniques to combine shape optimization and optimization on Riemannian manifolds, advanced aspects of shape sensitivity techniques, novel diffeomorphism based numerical schemes including their numerical analysis, and recent progress in higher-order topological sensitivities will be addressed. Many of the presentations are
motivated by challenging applications including problems in aerodynamics, structural design, geometric inversion, or image processing.
