Inverse Problems for Time Dependent PDEs

Abstract:
Identification of coefficients, initial data, boundary conditions, or other model information in time dependent PDEs from indirect measurements is a practically highly
relevant task. One of the major challenges for the design, implementation and numerical analysis of identification methods lies in the fact that the underlying models are
infinite dimensional dynamical systems. The aim of this minisymposium is to highlight
recent methodological progress that has been made on the background of control and
estimation for distributed parameter systems as well as Bayesian inversion in Banach
spaces.
